Having spent most of my working life as a teacher at both second and adult education level I am passionate about imparting knowledge in an interesting and insightful way. I have a simple belief that if you attend a class you should go away with both new skills and added enthusiasm.
One to One Classes
Here you select the topics you wish to cover, usually after a chat on the phone where I can asses the level and areas of interest you wish to cover. I then prepare the classes specifically to your needs. A PowerPoint of the bespoke class will be emailed to you after the session (I usually tweak it following the class to cover any issues that arise). One to one classes take place in the studio in Coolbawn are typically 2 hours in length and usually run from 10.00am to 12 noon. Alternative arrangements may be made to suit your individual requirements. The cost is €50

Classes are aimed at beginners and improvers and do not require any particular type of camera. The following are just some of the topics which will be covered:

What makes a good photo? The essential ingredients to taking a photo that you would be happy to hang on your wall!

Photography equipment, from phones to the latest mirrorless cameras and everything in between.

Composition and landscape: Simple tips and tricks to change your landscape photos.

Portraits: posing your subject, individual portraits, groups, candid images etc.

Wildlife, nature, and sport.

Editing using free alternatives to Photoshop.
